As sad as it makes us to say… that’s a wrap on summer 2023! But oh, what a summer we’ve had. We’ve seen so many fantastic activities producing smiles all the way through the school holidays, with new skills learned, new activities tried, and new friends made, we’ve really done it all this year. We love looking back at everything that we got up to, so sit back and relax as we reflect on some of the highlights of the summer together!
Our sessions with Zoolabs remain a firm favourite amongst all our age groups and this year was no different. Zoolabs once again absolutely outdid themselves by bringing the most exotic and interesting creatures to meet our campers. It’s safe to say that giant snails and super long snakes produced an array of reactions, from the inquisitive to the more hesitant of campers, Zoolabs once again showed their professionalism and nurtured fears into curiosity using education and encouragement.
We were truly blessed with the great British summer this year meaning that our camp leaders had to dive into our indoor activity boxes and crack out some of the best wet-weather activities we have to offer. This resulted in us finding the Picassos of the future dotted all around our camps! So now, we and our campers are the proud owners of some wonderfully imaginative paintings, sculptures, collages, clay models, self-portraits and chalk murals brightening up rooms, playgrounds and backpacks throughout the holidays.
You better believe when the heavy rains eased off that we were the first outside exploring, bug hunting, shelter building and starting fires the good old-fashioned way. Survival skills developed and at one with nature provides such a great environment for children to flourish. Studies have shown that playing outside improves learning outcomes as well as promoting curiosity, creativity and critical thinking.
This year we truly took the meaning of sports day to the next level! This summer saw such a wide array of different sports that anyone could try their hand at. From the magic and imagination of Quidditch to learning the posture and moves of fencing, we had it all. We saw our campers scaling high into the trees on our rock climbing walls, guarding wickets playing cricket, improving swimming skills and building confidence in the water, celebrating goals during football matches and zooming off to show us their sack racing abilities. From campers who tried something new, to our player of the matches, we were so thrilled with the level of enthusiasm and resilience each one of our sporting legends made throughout the summer and across sporting events.
Our activity partner Skates and Ladders showed everyone how it’s done this summer (quite literally) with their unbeatable sessions that took some of our campers from complete beginners to absolute skateboarding legends! With so many skills tied up in one session, our campers learned how to balance, speed up, break and even navigate obstacles while cruising along on a wheel or four.
Arguably one of the most fun additions to summer this year was the introduction of Fancy Dress Fridays. We’ll just let the photos speak for themselves on this one…
Of course, no matter what activities we run our main priority is ensuring that our campers learn new things, nurture existing skills, and make new friends. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing our campers arriving on day one, finding new buddies and watching their relationships blossom into beautiful friendships throughout the week.

My little one had a great time at Camp Beaumont! When your 5 year old doesn't even look back when you wave them off in the morning - you know they're doing something great.
