When it comes to teaching skateboarding and making in fun, Snakes and Ladders are in a league of their own. An energetic team from Skates and Ladders joined us during the Feb half term to coach campers of all levels in mastering roller-skating and skateboarding. Lessons included a basic turn, improving riding abilities, speed and direction control (a must!), how to stay safe and a balance technique, plus, tricks for the more experienced. Campers absolutely loved it, and we can’t wait to bring Skates and Ladders back soon!

Can you believe there’s a Quidditch premier league?! Classified as a legitimate sport, Quidditch, made famous by the Harry Potter films, has been hosted at Camp Beaumont during the summer holidays. And as you can imagine, it has been a huge hit with our campers. Through our partnership with Enrich Education and Quidditch UK (QUK), we are super proud to have brought this activity to our camps. So, what’s it all about? Consisting of a team of 18 players, those over 11 with brooms, and for safety, those under 11 with the quaffle only, the aim is to throw the quaffle through the opposing team’s hoop to score goals. There are chasers, beaters, keepers and seekers, and it is just so much fun to play.

Scooters are a must-have for children these days, and add another element to outdoor play at Camp Beaumont with scooter races and encouraging children to be active outdoors. In partnership with Micro-Scooters, who have now been around for over 20 years, we were able to provide a number of scooters at our camps for playtime, and we also gave away a few as prizes.

Now this was something really special. Zoolab, the UK’s leading ethical animal encounters company, brought a variety of exotic animals to our camps to the delight of our campers. Some were brave enough to hold a snake, and all loved the opportunity to get so up-close to many beautiful creatures. It was utterly fascinating. These types of interactions encourage children to grow through active learning and storytelling. We bet they had lots to say on their way home!

We’ll be detailing any added extras and associated dates on each of our camp location pages, as and when we book them in. Find your nearest day camp and keep an eye-out for updates, here

The staff are brilliant: enthusiastic, kind and engaged. The range of activities is great and the hours are really helpful for working parents. Most importantly our son always comes home happy and tired from a fun day.
