Christmas magic is here and while camps are currently closed, the Camp spirit doesn't stop, so we're bringing the fun to you with 8 Camp Beaumont inspired activities over the next couple of weeks for you to unwrap that you can easily do at home.

Get ready for creativity, adventure and of course a whole lot of camp magic.

Activity 1 - Craft your own special t-shirt!

Take your imagination to the next level and express yourself by creating you're very own special t-shirt!

Whether it's something associated to your time in camp, a favourite superhero or something completely different, we're sure it will fast become your favourite t shirt.

What you'll need:

  • An old, plain t-shirt or two
  • Some fabric paints
  • Your imagination!

Once you've finished (and it's dried) take a picture and tag us on social media - we'd love to see your designs. Parents, if you made one too, share it with us as well!

Activity 2 - Home talent show

Do you or anyone from your family have any amazing hidden talents? Let the spotlight shine down and the creativity flow because its time for a Camp talent show... at home edition. Gather your family or friends (or both!) for a night of singing, dancing and showcasing your best talents.

How to host your own talent show?

  • Set the stage: Use torches, lamps or something more extravagant to transform your living room into a performance space.
  • Dress to impress: Pick your snazziest outfit and encourage everyone else to do so too.
  • Talent time: Dazzle your family with your incredible talent.
  • The judging panel: You and your family can award each other scores, who will come out on top?!

Activity 3 - DIY obstacle course

Looking for a fun way to get the whole family moving? Bring the adventure of Camp Beaumont straight to your home! Turn a room (or two) into a mini obstacle course and find out who the fastest member of your family is.

Here's what you need:

  • Everyday household items - such as cushions and chairs.
  • A stopwatch.
  • The desire to win!

Activity 4 - Dramatic storytelling at home

Do you have a favourite story that you would definitely tell during your own story time? Turn your living room into a storytelling stage suitable for royalty! Gather the family, dim the lights and share your favourite stories. Whether they are spooky, hilarious or totally made up tales, this activity is guaranteed to bring laughter and chills.

Here's what you need:

  • Use pillows, blankets, small boxes and other household items to create the stage.
  • Grab a flashlight to shine on the stage for dramatic effect.
  • Your favourite story or tale.

Activity 5 - Nature scavenger hunt

Do you know anyone with a sharp eye for nature? Turn your backyard or local park into a treasure map by creating a list of nature items for your family to find and see who can tick off the most items.

Here's how:

  • Create a list and be as creative as you like. Fill it with items to be found.
  • Gather some willing participants such as family and friends, give them a copy of the list, some time and let the fun commence.

Activity 6 - Cook off

Turn your kitchen into a culinary adventure and channel your inner chef by whipping up some inspired treats with a mini cooking competition.

Here's what you need:

  • Grab some ingredients depending on what you want to make.
  • Select a family member or friend (or two!) to go up against.

From accidental masterpieces to hilarious kitchen mishaps, a cook off guarantees giggles and delicious memories. Remember though, the secret ingredient is fun, don't whisk it. 😉

Activity 7 - Wake up shake up - at home!

Start your morning like a true camper with a fun and active warm up. It's the perfect way to bring a bit of Camp Beaumont to your morning routine and get the entire family involved.

Here's what you need:

  • Some music to hype you up.
  • Some of your best moves and stretches - think jumping jacks, running in place or a few different stretches.
  • Some water to remain hydrated.

Get moving and energised for the day!

Activity 8 - Art gallery

Bring the creative side of Camp Beaumont home by hosting your very own art gallery. Have everyone create their own masterpiece to then show and tell and then display them for the whole family to admire!

Here's what you need:

  • Art supplies - things like paper or a canvas, paints, brushes, glitter and so on.
  • Tools - think glue sticks, tape and so on.

If you had to pick one theme for your masterpiece, what would it be? Share your ideas over on our Facebook page.

You’re the only camp in the area that has truly made an effort to provide a great offering during these current times. You have saved me from insanity and provided my children some normality during the summer holidays and half term.
