Sliced between more active sessions, we have a huge choice of arts activities for campers this summer school holiday. Arts and crafts foster creativity, self-expression and nurture children’s imaginations. Taking part in Camp Beaumont’s arts sessions also doesn’t necessarily mean staying in a classroom, there are so many opportunities to be creative outdoors.
Check out some of the arts and crafts activities available in our ‘Camp Beaumont Backpack’ this summer; which is your favourite?
From creating hanging decorations and puzzle making to glitter fireworks and finger-paint trees! Campers of all ages get to create their own interpretation of Camp Beaumont art, expertly demonstrated by our team leaders.
Messy play doesn’t get much better than the squidging and moulding possibilities of clay. We encourage participants to get ‘stuck in’ and to create their very own masterpiece with tips and tricks along the way. Overalls are provided!
Teens are given the chance to make new accessories and outfits from old ones, either clothes they have outgrown or are bored of, or unexpected items like paper bags or recycled bottles. They will then plan a show and playlist before heading down the catwalk to show their outfits off.
This session encourages children to look at the world around them for inspiration. We use raw materials such as twigs, pinecones and other natural items, and help campers create items, for example, animal friends by adding felt and other features. As a finale, participants are encouraged to use their creation to make their very own story.
Children will have lots of opportunities to dress up and role play as pirates and princesses in this activity, as well as playing party games like ‘Let Sleeping Pirates Lie’. The pirates and princesses will also head out on a treasure hunt and make their own map as a memento for the day.
Focussing on reducing waste, this activity will challenge children to make something new from something old. A great opportunity to think about the environment and how we can recycle and be more resourceful with what we have.
Friendship bracelets are always a big hit in this session. With all the necessary materials provided, campers will be taught how to make their own jewellery. They’ll also get to take their masterpiece home.
Glitter, coloured paper and (child friendly) glue guns galore. Campers will get to relax and indulge in creating and accessorising their own masks. A lovely souvenir to take home.
The staff are brilliant: enthusiastic, kind and engaged. The range of activities is great and the hours are really helpful for working parents. Most importantly our son always comes home happy and tired from a fun day.
